new favorite dinner

We just discovered our new favorite dinner... homemade pizza. After a ten hour day at school I came home craving BBQ chicken pizza so I decided I should try and make it. Although it may not be the most healthy it is delicious and pretty quick.

I used this recipe for the dough from my sister's food blog. It was really easy and then I pretty much just did whatever sounded good for toppings.

BBQ Chicken Pizza, the key is the Gouda cheese with the mozzarella and fresh cilantro.

The other one we made had pesto sauce with mozzarella, goat cheese, mushrooms and spinach.

Pizza, diet coke, and dr. mario was exactly what I needed after a long day at school.

Hitting the Slopes

This has been the first winter in as long as I can remember that I have not had a season pass and it has been really hard. The last two years Matt and I have had season passes to snowbird and have been spoiled with lots of skiing.

Over the break we were lucky enough to have some great ski days.

Alta with smeegs and some of the heaviest snow we have ever skied in Utah.

We also had a great day at the bird.

We took a few runs with Abby and Erin,

then skied the rest of the afternoon with some of the family.

We also had a ski day with almost the whole Mulcock fam at Park City.

We had a lot of fun even though it was one of the coldest days of the year.

We are so lucky to both love skiing and have families that love it too. We got a few passes for Christmas and can't wait to use them!

the most wonderful day of the year

This year was our first Christmas being married and it was wonderful. Both of us are really close with our families so the idea of trying to split up time on Christmas eve and Christmas day was one that was not easy. However, it worked out perfectly we got to spend lots of time with both families and neither of us had to miss the things that were important to us.

On Christmas eve we had dinner with the Mulcock family and opened presents from grandma and grandpa Clyde.

After we went over to my parents for "silent night" and christmas movies.

Alex and Elena read the nativity story and set up figurines alex colored.

Christmas morning Matt and I opened presents from each other at our condo and had a few cinnamon knots  for breakfast #1

After opening presents together we went to the Mulcocks for breakfast #2 and opening presents

the kids are definately the center of attention on Christmas morning they make it so much fun!

Next it was over to my parents for opening presents and then skiing with the whole family.

Skiing with the fam on Christmas day is probably one of my favorite traditions.

After all our back and forth in the morning we had a nice relaxing Christmas night playing games and watching modern family with the Mulcocks. I already can't wait for next Christmas!

Christmas Festivities

I absolutely love Christmas! Here are a few things we did to enjoy the holiday season.
We went to see the lights down at temple square with my family and then went to our condo for hot chocolate and treats.

Smeegs with his imaginary significant other

she is so adorable!

We also enjoyed some great Christmas parties with friends and family this year. Sadly I didn't do a very good job documenting with pictures.

I went to a party with the DG girls at Brecken and Lauren's condo. So much fun to see all of them!

The Schnieder's annual Christmas party is always one of our favorites. Every year there is a theme with a gingerbread house contest and a song. Sadly we didn't win this year but it is always such a good time I wish I remembered to bring the camera.

Jake and Sahar had a great dinner party and a cookie exchange at their house with a few of Matt's friends from highschool.

We also attended the Ivory's Japanese themed Christmas party. They go all out, Japanese food, everyone wears Japanese clothing and this year we wrote haiku. At the end of the party you vote on what country will be the theme for the next year. I am so excited for India next Christmas!

I wish I would have taken more pictures! In case you can't tell Abby is a panda and I am dressed in my dad's old karate gear.

We have also enjoyed lots of time spent with family, as many christmas movies as we can get our hands on, christmas treats and lots of christmas music. It has been so fun having our own place and starting our traditions together!
